Fishing
An insiders tip for friends of the fishing sport are the Gastein fishing grounds - an angling paradise in one of the clearest stretches of water in Austria. Amongst others, you can catch brown trout and char. Salmon trout with a weight of up to 4kg are also ready to be fished from the Gasteiner Ache river.
You can get day passes and information about the fishing waters from Mr. Ellmauer, Tel. +43/06434/2833 or Fam. Angerer, Rieserbauer, Tel. +43/6433/7282, www.paarseen.com.
Good fishing!
Archery
After a short training session at the Waldgasthof Angertal in Bad Hofgastein, the Gastein valleys' unique ARCHERY PARCOUR begins and takes you over open grounds and on idyllic forest paths on the hunt for life-like animal replicas. It is essential to shoot the "animal" with a bow and arrow, in order to collect reward points for every hit.
Suitable equipment is available for big and small hunters in the archery rental store. You will need about 1.5 hours for the parcour.
The hunting season begins at Whitsun and ends in mid-October. We are closed on Tuesdays.
Additionally, you can also start an archery parcour directly at the valley station of the Bellevue Alm lift in Bad Gastein.
