Waterfall (Bad Gastein)

The Gastein waterfall is located in the middle of the town and has a total drop height of 341m (over three levels).

Nikolauskirche (Bad Gastein)

Early gothic (1389), with well preserved frescos, late gothic pulpit, baroque alters from the 17th and 18th centuries, tomb from the 16th to 19th century, bell by Georg Achthaller (1564).

Christopheruskirche (Bad Gastein)

Protestant church, new gothic (1866-1867)  built by building master Jacob Ceconi and Pecol based on the design by Oberbaurat Salzenberg, renovated in 1959 and 1981.

Badeschloss (Bad Gastein)

A wellness and therapy centre between 1792 and 1794. Built by Erzbischof Hieronymus Graf Colloredo according to plans by Wolfgang Hagenauer, entrance by Anton Högler, extended in 1857.

Villa Solitude (Bad Gastein)

Built in 1838 by Baron von Mesnil, later became the possession of countess Lehndorff, the wife of the general adjutant to King Wilhelm I.

Altböckstein mining house (Bad Gastein)

(1741-1764), small baroque living area and processing plant for gold mining, refurbished in 1979, now a mining museum.

Hohe Tauern national park

Salzwelten (Bad Dürrnberg, Salzburg)

Experience the two and a half thousand year old tradition of the salt mine. A mine railway, mountain man slide and a raft that was used to cross the salt lake take you to the inside of the mountain.
